Adidas Wrestling

Adidas has been a top name in the wrestling world since dinosaurs roamed the earth. Well maybe not that long, but at least since the 70's when your dad rocked a permed fro and bell bottoms at the local roller disco club. Adidas shoes and singlets have been worn by Olympians, beginners, and everyone in between for decades and they're still going strong. Not only are they one of the top brands in the U.S., Adidas is perhaps the most widespread brand on the planet and can be found in nearly every country that has wrestling.

In keeping with the rest of the Adidas brand, Adidas wrestling is known for their high-quality gear that looks good, feels good, and is built to last. Today, more than ever, they are innovating and creating new designs and technology to help athletes push the limits of top performance. Although they are most recognized for their wrestling shoes, Adidas provides a full line of gear including singlets, earguards, kneepads, warmups, training gear, and more.

It would be impossible to count all the amazing Olympic moments for Adidas wrestling, but one of the most iconic memories comes to us by way of Rulon Gardner. It's true, he was wearing ASICS when he famously left his shoes on the mat after taking Bronze in Athens in 2004 and then had an ASICS shoe named after him. However, when he defeated the 12-time World Champion Aleksandr "The Experiment" Karelin of Russia, Gardner was wearing a fresh new pair of Adidas. Coincidence? Maybe. We'll let you be the judge.

In more recent history, Olympic Champion Jake Varner has been the star of the Adidas wrestling show. After winning two NCAA championships along with an Olympic Gold (2012), Adidas got him his own signature shoe, the Adizero Varner, which has remained wildly popular since its release. With Varner now retired from competition and focusing on coaching at Penn State, David Taylor is the next big thing for the Adidas team. Biting at the heels of super-star Jordan Burroughs, Taylor is training hard to become one of the best in the world. It doesn't stop there, Adidas has a whole roster of young studs who are dominating the competition, including Jordan Oliver, Nico Megaludis, Coleman Scott, Quentin Wright, Nick Marable, Jimmy Kennedy, Jon Reader, Dustin Kilgore, Clayton Foster, Zach Rey, Richard Perry, and California's own Nahshon Garrett.

With all this talk of elite athletes, you may be thinking "yeah that's cool, but what about my 6-year-old?". Don't panic, we've got you covered. Adidas has plenty to offer in the youth wrestling department. One of the great things about their shoes is that ALL Adidas wrestling shoes go down to size 4. Additionally, they have a couple models in sizes as low as K10. They also have options for earguards and other training gear and accessories for the youngsters, including some of the best fitting and best looking singlets around.

What about team gear? Yep, we have that too. The most popular team items that we carry from Adidas are their headgear and their singlets (you can get team shoes too). The Adidas Response Earguard is perfect for teams that want the classic look, but prefer a chip cup over the standard chin strap, which can be uncomfortable at times. They make some of the best stock and custom singlets around. Please note – Adidas custom sublimated singlets have about a 5-6 week production time after artwork approval… but it's worth the wait!
